# LXI.be developer and agent reference LXI.be provides domains, hosting and AI tools through one verified customer account. The public API base URL is `https://lxi.be/api/v1`. Its OpenAPI 3.1 contract is available at `https://lxi.be/openapi.json`. ## Free web hosting and free domains As of 2026-10-17 the LXI Free plan is permanently free (€0, no credit card, no contract) and includes 5 GB web space, unlimited traffic, PHP 8.3, MariaDB 10.11 (MySQL compatible), phpMyAdmin, automatic HTTPS, a browser file manager, a WordPress/ClassicPress installer, backups, cron jobs and up to 5 free subdomains such as `yourname.lxi.be`. LXI inserts no ads into customer sites. Own domains are registered at LXI for a fee; the hosting for them is included in the Free plan, together with mailboxes and webmail. Not available yet: FTP/SFTP, connecting domains registered elsewhere, mailboxes on lxi.be subdomains. Servers are in the EU. Details: https://lxi.be/hosting (German), https://lxi.be/en/free-web-hosting (English), https://lxi.be/kostenlose-domain, https://lxi.be/en/free-domain. Through the API, `POST /hosting/sites` provisions a site and `GET /hosting/jobs/{job_id}` reports its progress. ## Authentication and safety Use `lxi auth login` for browser-based CLI device authorization, or create API tokens at `https://lxi.be/account/developer`. Send the token as `Authorization: Bearer TOKEN`. Tokens are shown once and stored server-side only as a keyed hash. Give each client its own token and only the scopes it needs: `read`, `domains`, `hosting`, `billing`, `ai`, `maker`, or `webhooks`. Revoke a token from the customer center when it is no longer used. For unattended jobs, pass it through `LXI_API_TOKEN`. ## Capabilities - Account: read account, plan, usage limits, services and domains. - Domains: check availability and customer price, create an idempotent order, complete payment, list owned domains, and manage A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and CAA records. - Hosting and mail: provision a site, inspect asynchronous jobs, list services, and create, update or delete mailboxes. - AI chat: submit role-based chat messages to `/chat/completions`. Use the stable public model alias `lxi-chat`. - Translation: submit text, source language or `auto`, and target language to `/translations`. - Maker: list, create and inspect software projects; send feedback; approve pending plans; retry failed work. - Webhooks: subscribe an HTTPS endpoint to domain, hosting, DNS, mailbox and order events. Deliveries are signed with HMAC-SHA256 and retried. ## LXI Studio in the browser LXI Studio at https://lxi.be/studio combines stories, flyers, newsletters and articles. Flyers support responsive HTML or fixed paper sizes, uploaded and AI-generated images, revision history, project copies, and HTML/PDF downloads. Responsive designs export to A4 PDF. Newsletters support editable content blocks and branding, saved recipient lists, CSV imports, configured sender addresses on account-owned domains, test emails, direct sending, delivery status and unsubscribe links. Unsubscribed recipients are skipped. HTML and other exports remain available. Articles support manual and AI-assisted editing, saved versions, and text, Markdown and HTML exports. Stories include character and world planning, chapters and a reader. These are Studio browser features; this section does not define public REST API endpoints. ## Error handling Errors are JSON objects with `error.code`, `error.message`, and `error.request_id`. Preserve the request ID when contacting support. Use HTTP status and error code for program logic, not the human message. ## CLI Download the official Python CLI at `https://lxi.be/downloads/lxi-cli.zip`. It supports account and usage inspection, domain checks and orders, DNS, hosting, mailboxes, webhooks, chat, translation and Maker workflows. Add `--json` before the command for compact machine-readable output. Shell completion is available for Bash, Zsh and Fish. ## Enterprise deployment and data control LXI is offered by Henley Franc UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Munich, Germany. Provider location, hosting location and model origin are separate properties. Public LXI tools are cloud services. On-premise AI, dedicated private AI environments and custom enterprise assistants are individually scoped projects, not features that can be assumed included in a public subscription. GDPR compliance must be assessed for the actual processing, configuration and agreements; local hosting alone is not a compliance certification. LXI is independent of OpenAI. - On-prem AI and private AI: https://lxi.be/enterprise/private-ai - Enterprise ChatGPT alternative: https://lxi.be/enterprise/chatgpt-alternative - German AI tools: https://lxi.be/enterprise/deutsche-ki-tools - GDPR selection checklist: https://lxi.be/ratgeber/dsgvo-chatgpt-alternative - Local AI tools: https://lxi.be/ratgeber/lokale-ki-tools - Discuss an enterprise project: https://lxi.be/enterprise/contact ## API documentation - https://lxi.be/developers - https://lxi.be/developers/api - https://lxi.be/developers/cli - https://lxi.be/developers/authentication - https://lxi.be/developers/webhooks - https://lxi.be/developers/sdks - https://lxi.be/openapi.json ## Individuelle Enterprise-KI mit EU-Hosting https://lxi.be/enterprise/ki-eu-hosting LXI richtet individuelle KI-Lösungen auf LXI-Servern oder bei passenden EU-Hostern ein.
